Hi,
Having some problems using the timezone setting in the configuration file
with exim 3.35; basically it doesn't seem to change anything, neither did
setting TZ...
The situation might be a little unique so I'll describe it: exim was
built on zipslack 3.9 (an old and rather small distro), and is been run
on a highly stripped down version of this (Freesco router).
Zipslack has /etc/localtime and /usr/share/zoneinfo/. Freesco has none of
those files--they could be added as needed, but I'm trying to add as little
as possible to get this working.
TZ didn't appear to be set by default on the zipslack box, but I've tried
compiling with TZ set, as well as with TIMEZONE_DEFAULT set in
Local/Makefile. All of these exim binaries give the same result on
Freesco. Timestamps in headers all end up as localtime with the timezone
offset as +0000.
I feel sure there must be a way to be able to set the +0000 to something
else (while still using localtime as the time), but all attempts (setting
TZ, adding /etc/localtime file and setting timezone in the exim
configuration plus all combinations of these) have failed so far...
