I'm running exim 4.14.

Reducing rfc1413_query_timeout from 30s to 20s worked for me.

It seems that when verizon connects back to me to validate the sender,
we do the ident callout on the connection. Their validation servers
don't respond to or reject the ident so we delay the 30 seconds till
the ident times out. By then, their validation server has given up and
has rejected the original connection.

By reducing the ident timeout to 20 seconds all seems to work.

The alternative would be to not ident for verizon.net hosts

rfc1413_hosts = ! 206.46.252.0/24

Verizon seems to cache validations. Once I successfully sent a message
(after reducing the ident timeout), verizon quit checking back.
