Hmmm! SLUG!

I really don't see what the problem with EDITME is. I'm no guru but even I
was able to get Exim up and running in a _very_ short space of time. What's
more, once I'd got it sussed I immediately used it to replace sendmail on
any box I could lay my hands on. I found sendmail such a pain when dealing
with different variants (Solaris, AIX and DYNIX/ptx).

I've just compared Local/Makefile with src/EDITME and here are the bits I
changed:

PERL_COMMAND
COMPRESS_COMMAND
ZCAT_COMMAND
LOG_FILE_PATH
PID_FILE_PATH
SPOOL_DIRECTORY

I could just as easily have left them at the default settings and set up
symbolic links.

OK, so the configure file took a bit more work to tailor it to our needs,
but on other systems (where I just need to throw everything at our main MTA)
I only need to define primary_hostname local_domains and a smart_route
router. Not eaxctly rocket science!
