This is the version of Exim that I'm using and it takes forever for the
greeting banner to come up and exim to accept the mail message for delivery,
and as such, the error on the sending MX is :
Connecting to reaper.org
... connected
LOG: 0 MAIN
SMTP timeout while connected to
reaper.org [196.36.178.230] after initial
connection (0 bytes written)
I am runnign on FreeBSD:

You are more than welcome to test this out and see the delays.
