Might be worth looking to see whether or not the core Exim integration
could be provided by invoking Exim in a special mode, which lets
data/results pass pack and forth as text over pipes connected to Exim's
stdin and stdout, so that a GUI can be written without needing
code-level access to Exim's queue management.
If we do that, then the GUI can become its own thing in a small repo,
written in a scripting language to use the modern toolkits, and we can
let people work on that, or competitors, independently instead of having
one ancient toolkit's version officially blessed into the real Exim
release, where it languishes effectively unmaintained.
Just throwing the idea out there; might be a fun project.
