Maybe I should re-word that - No you don't have to create these accounts
on the Exim server as well if you are only routing messages to accounts
held on the Exchange server.

I forgot to mention that the config's shown in the paper can also be
downloaded as a tar.gz here (if you are building the server from new):

The quick answer is that Exch2003 can do recipient verification if
persuaded (by configuring a setting on the Exch SMPT server) . Exch2000
just accepts everything first then bounces it later (unless you can use
LDAP to query Active directory).

In my experience you may need to use the "ip literals" settings in exim
and on the Exch Smarthost i.e. [210.11.11.11]

Also beware of an underscore in the server name and HELO.
