Subject: [exim] Solved: Authentication using saslauthd <-> cyrus_sasl
Hello again,

I got it: I needed to create the file /usr/lib/sasl2/exim.conf with
containing the following line:
pwcheck_method:saslauthd

My exim authenticator looks like this:

begin authenticators

sasl_plain:
driver = cyrus_sasl
public_name = PLAIN
server_set_id = $1

When submitting a mail using "swaks -a", exim logs these lines:
2006-04-22 19:18:16 1FXLkO-0001Lq-PV <= christian@??? H=(localhost) [127.0.0.1] P=esmtpa A=sasl_plain:christian S=259

Just for the archives: This is on Debian Sarge using exim 4.50.

Thanks to Andreas who pushed me "on the right way". :-)

Gruss,
Christian Schmidt
