The reason in the error is the difference, in my example, an example of
a normal? RCPT TO: 550 error, the error is 'No such receipient', in the
example you give, even though the 550 is generated after a RCPT TO:
command, the reason is 'use a real MAIL FROM address', i.e. they do not
want to accept 'MAIL FROM:<>', and that is what they say.

I do not use the rfc-ignorant lists myself, I was just pointing out that
what you stated was not what the original poster had complained about,
he did not complain that a site rejected messages that happened to be
from null senders, but that they rejected all null senders at the
'MAIL FROM:' stage, two different things.
