Subject: [Exim] not receiving mail and reverse dns
I just got a public IP again. However, at the moment, there is no
reverse entry for it. (once I figured that out I understood why SF is
temporarily rejecting a certain outgoing message) I also just read
the discussion between Terry and Phil regarding reverse DNS, which
made me wonder ...

However, the problem I'm having is that no mail for
"dman@???" is getting delivered to my machine. My mainlog,
rejectlog, and paniclog show nothing interesting. (in fact, reject
and panic are empty) Would reverse dns have anything to do with the
other servers not attempting to connect() to my machine? (hmm, I'll
have to add an iptables log to make sure they're not actually
connecting)

I know that my system works because I can deliver a message via
telnet. I have exim-users registered by my school address which is
forwarding to my work address. That server is on the same private LAN
the other NIC in my machine is on; and it can forward using an
ip literal address. (the chain of forwards are a bit odd, but before
I got this public IP it was the only way; and since nothing is
delivering on that interface it is still the only way)

TIA,
-D
