Sort out your PATH so that it includes wherever you have installed exim.
Or just use the fully qualified path name.

(The manual kind of assumes the reader to be experienced in Unix; I
realize that nowadays (6 years later) much less experienced people are
trying to install/run Exim. I've tried to do better in the book, and
I try to keep it in mind when revising the manual.)
