However, a quick look a the doc would have told you that.

Okay, then you have missed something. Remember that regex need to be
tested unless you are a god in them -- whcih means you have a zillion
years of working with them.
exim -d 9 -bF filter < message should give you all the variable
expended and you can trace through it.

The following is from the vanilla configuration file:

Chapter 44 is called "Intermittently connected hosts". I don't think
you mean that one, or if you do I really don't get your question.
There is a whole file on filters exim-3.22/doc/filter.txt that will
answer all of your basic question in it. Please, do read it.

I was a new users as well. However, PLAESE read the documentation and
don't ask questions that have the answer in BOLD in the configuration
file!
