Subject: [Exim] Err: No Transport Provider
Greetings,

I am running Debian 2.1 with Exim 2.05. All clients are either Outlook 97
or Outlook 2000.

Once in awhile, a user will send a message and immediatly get a response
back "No Transport Provider" If they choose "Send Again", sometimes it
works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes, they try sending it 4-5 times and
it bounces back every time. By the time I get to thier desk, I try clicking
"Send Again" and the message goes. I have been unable to find any type of
pattern to this either. Some people will just have "bad days" with 3-5
bounces, and the next day, they are fine. There is no evidence of these "No
transport provider" messages in the mainlog either.

I have found one thing quite peculiar though. When I go to someone's desk
who JUST had a message bounce, I try to telnet into port 25, and I get no
response. Almost like Exim isn't spawning. If I wait long enough or try
multiple times, I will eventually get a response. I'll go back to Outlook
and send again and it goes.

Is it possible to pre-spawn Exim?

I've been running around trying to track this intermittent problem for over
a month now so any help would be greatly appreciated.
