OK, another oddity...
local_domains_include_host seems to be having the oposite effect to that
intended. I've not noticed actual problems with this, but noticed it on
the debug=9 output.
Basically, when this option is set, it reports that the primary_hostname
is not in local_domains. When I leave it unset it doesn't even mention
it's checking to see if it's in local_domains.
The manual says that local_domains_include_host "has the same effect as
including '@' in local_domains - this produces the second set of results
below, i.e. the desired one.
Am I getting the wrong end of the stick here?

local_domains = dbm;/home/mail/db/local-domains.dbm
