Subject: When does rewriting occur ?
Hello

Thanks to Philip for his extremely fast reply yesterday !
What a support service !

I have now some experience on the Solaris 2.5.1 plateform
but I have to install exim (1.62) on a SGI.
It was compiled yesterday and now I am testing.

I am puzzled by the rewriting process :

I used the file configure and modified only the part
about local delivery (group=mail).

I can send a mail to the account "web" from another machine,
the mail is received. Local delivery works.
This is fine !

But if I put the following rewriting rule in the configure file
web@??? webmaster@???

then the account web can't receive any more messages.
they are automatically forwarded to webmaster@???
(as eximon shows it). There is no local delivery.

Is this behaviour correct or I am missing something ?
I always though that rewriting was done when sending a
message not when receiving one for local delivery.

Thanks for your comments
