I have now found this code. I can easily add it into Exim in time for
the next release (expected by the end of the month, if all goes well).
Should I make it the default? I'm a bit worried about doing that because
of comments in the code that say it doesn't work on SunOS 4.x.x. Is that
the problem you are referring to?
Perhaps I could make the default to clean the socket options, with an
option to turn that off, and a separate option for reporting or not. Does
that seem reasonable?
