I'm not understanding what the issue is in the first place...
Is it about compiling a Unicode pattern with invalid Unicode data (stray
surrogates)? Is it about patterns that check for individual Unicode codeunits?
Is it about patterns that check for individual codepoints that cannot be
present in a valid Unicode string?
