It looks like, currently, the log_selector is only applied to the
logging done by the "direct" policy control options, and not
by the result of the acl_smtp_connect ACL. This looks like a bug.
For now, could you use smtp_accept_max, smtp_accept_reserve and
smtp_reserve_hosts instead of the ACL coding?
