You may want to look at a general syslog utility for this, it may be far
easier than _persuading_ exim to do this directly...

We use rsyslog (http://www.rsyslog.com/) to log exim logs into MySQL.
This really aids in tracing incoming and outgoing massages when you have
multiple frontend, backend and queue servers.
