Not so tongue in cheek - examples..............

Gmail deliberately obscure the originating IP address for "privacy" reasons.
This also severely hinders trying to block spam from Gmail, unless you block
Gmail entirely - which some servers do.

MSN - actually block based on forged "From:" addresses (they told me so
themselves). So if you own qwerty.com and someone else from brazil is
sending spam supposedly from qwerty.com - then YOUR mail will end up in the
spambox. Brilliant.

Telewest (now Virgin Media) sending mail from servers with no rDNS and no
fqdn as a HELO at one point.

Comcast blocking an entire ISP (Clara) on the basis of about 15 spams over 3
weeks. Now THERE'S the pot calling the kettle black for you !!

123-reg (UK Registrar and Large hosting provider) having spam reported
(myCanadianpharmacy) for 6 months from 1 single userid and email address and
not managing to track it down. In fact 123-reg don't even know where their
abuse@ mail actually gets delivered. They told me Pipex deal with it - Pipex
said they don't !!

Need I go on ?

Totally clueless.
