I believe that it was a tongue-in-cheek comment - you're very unlikely
to find a frontline telephone support operative (ooh, fancy names)
working for any large, big-name ISP who has any knowledge about anything
other than how to follow the knowledgebase or expert system script on
their screen.

OK, I do the knowledgeable minority a gross disservice there, but I
think you know what I mean. Big-name (consumer, domestic, call 'em what
you will) ISPs don't provide high-detail support for what they would
view as esoteric software. If it isn't a Windows client, or a Mac,
forget it. If you want to talk servers, go to the "corporate" level (for
which you pay $$$) where things are very different. You get, after all,
what you pay for.
