I *resemble* that remark! And beg to differ.

I've read all or most of several iterations of the manual(s), and still managed
to post, not only stupid questions, but odd bits of bad advice...

Though I have never felt overly lonely in doing either...

;-)

BTW - I'd vote for a verb such as:

invoke

or

trip

or

post

or even

exec

...for a RHS expansion of the sort involved.

It is not limited to an SQL call.

One can reboot the server - or a distant server - or brew coffee with it.

hardly a "do nothing" verb, that.
