Given knowledge of Exim's ID for a message--which was stated as known, plain
grep is sufficient (and much cheaper).

If a "Completed" line appears, Exim is done with the message (in
sufficiently old versions, that was not true, because -Mrm (and presumably
-Mg did not log the Completed. Completed, of course, does not mean
successful.

Exactly what says "successful" depends on one's logging settings (and is
easier for single-recipient messages), but possible for multi-recipient
ones.
