ok, thanx ... in fact i have read chapter 8 and doc/pcretest.txt
before posting and they are plenty of examples using delimiters
(chapter 8.1 for example). If you don't know what a delimiter is
and that it should (?) be used when testing expressions in pcretest
but not in exim it can cause confusion (that's why i posted on the
list).
