Subject: Re: [exim] long delays on debian testing (mypost: rl3sept27)
Hi and thanks,

I've tried that but now get a different problem: exim seems to be sending my
local hostname (ie. not a fully qualified domain name) in SMTP chattings (see
log). I have

dc_visiblename='shinyblue.net' set in my /etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf
file. The only place I can see it's getting the local hostname ("reech") from
is the /etc/hosts file where it's the first entry for 127.0.0.1. Is this
right?

thanks for your patience and help.

rich

PS. My set up may be a bit unusual: I'm running exim on a laptop (which mostly
has broadband access) as an internet server because I'm testing the set up
before putting it onto a server proper.
