No, I don't think so, but I would have to go and read the code to find
out for sure. Exim is now far too large for its details to remain in my
short-term memory any more. And in any case, the details of handling
error messages have been changed and re-organized several times. It also
depends on the precise details of the transport that fails. I would need
to see the debug output to try to figure out exactly what is happening.
