that can vouch for them. Maybe.
Question comes up all the time, but in reality there is not really much
an MTA can do along those lines.....
The various schemes that purport to address it usually fall short of
themselves being tamper-proof.
OTOH, any given two end-correspondents very often have private means of
verifying each to the other (pgp, confirming phone calls, fax, shared
experiences, vouched-for digital signatures, mere continuity of a
specific correspondence thread, etc.)
Not within an MTA's capability set just yet.
