Subject: [exim] domain missing or malformed
Hi this error popped up out of the blue. Every thing was working fine
then all of sudden any mail sent from the command line of the server or
system mail cron etc started to produce this error

SMTP error from remote mailer after MAIL
FROM:<root@???.> SIZE=2099: host mail.destination.org.uk
[80.264.144.50]: 501 <root@???.>: domain missing or malformed
2005-02-06 00:16:10 1Cxa5y-000P3I-TH Error while reading message with no
usable sender address (R=1CxZqK-000Oz0-VQ): at least one malformed
recipient address: root@???. - domain missing or malformed
2005-02-06 00:16:10 1CxZqK-000Oz0-VQ Process failed (1) when writing
error message to root@???. (frozen)

All virtual domains on the server are working fine. If i send a local
mail to one of the virtual domains that works ok. But any attempt to
send from a local account to an outside address give the error above.
The only thing to change was i installed mailman in the morning so i
undid the changes but still the same error
Server software Freebsd 4.10 exim exim-4.43
