RFC2822 says that replies SHOULD have a References: header. Your message
lacked one, thus disassociating your message from the thread to which
you replied. This is very inconsiderate. Please consider using a non-
broken mail program if you wish to participate in public fora.

There are indeed. Some are generally backed up by references to fact and
explanations of how mail actually works in the real world. The opposing
view is generally just "It's my right to break my mail", and "But <xxxx>
is doing it so it must be sane".

I'd like to _not_ see that final sentence with 'Exim' in it where
'<xxxx>' used to be.
