Exim does not care, it just delivers mail to a mailbox. If you only have
local users, I recommend popa3d. For more features (mysql support for
virtual users, multiple domains etc.) I use tpop3d.
But if I'd have to set up a mailserver today, I would not go for a
pop3-only solution. For IMAP, I use courier-imap, but Dovecot is also
said to be very nice.
