Well, that only proves that you received two mails, not that exim did
anything wrong.
Unless you have a complex configuration, a simple test with
exim -d -bt the.incorrect.routed@???
should reveal enough information. Also, the relevant parts of your
configuration and the debuglog would help us to understand, and maybe
solve, your problem.
