I've thought about it too, unfortunately, syslog is widely adopted/standard.
Since syslog is part of the libc library (client end) this makes things a
tad more interesting to replace. I doubt the libc people would adopt it.

Lab tests show that use of micro$oft causes cancer in lab animals
