Sorry for that - I naturally use exim 4.42, with 3.13 I just meant
the chapter of the filter docs! ;-)

Okay, I sent a message via -bS and it didn't expand $message_id in
the pipe command.
Why not?
I'm still missing what I'm doing wrong here...
