I assume you're using RH/Fedora/MDK.

You need to edit the /etc/init.d/exim file - specifically the line
(this or similar)

 daemon /usr/sbin/exim $([ "$DAEMON" = yes ] && echo -bd) \
                              $([ -n "$QUEUE" ] && echo -q$QUEUE)

I cannot how to stop and restart exim with command line options - all I
have used is the command "service exim |stop|start|restart."
how would I do otherwise?
