4.34 is blocked[1] from propagating to sarge by perl. - The 4.34 binary
package depends on perl 5.8.4 and perl 5.84 cannot propagate into
sarge because it triggers a gcc error on ARM, m68k and IA64 that
causes it to fail to build from source.

You can either pull exim4 (and perl) from unstable by temporarily
adding sid to sources.list and using
apt-get install exim4-daemon-heavy=4.34-2
or by rebuilding it on sarge.
