We've been allocating CRSIDs in a similar way for over 30 years (e.g.
ph10!) but only in the last 10 or so have we been allocating them to
everyone. Apart from the early 1990s anomaly of 7 character IDs along the
lines of fanf100 (or worse, ph10000) the largest number we have is on a
two-initial combination which is nearly up to 650, counting from 200 to
avoid confusion with O and L.
