There has always been a problem here because there never was any
standard interface to the MTA. Sendmail does what it likes, and
everybody else has to try to keep up. This is a pity, not least because
Sendmail's option style is ancient and confusing.

In fact, assuming it means "set the protocol", it is spelt "-oMr " (note
the space). I really don't like options whose arguments run on, though I
have implemented some for Exim for compatibility (e.g. -f). I cannot in
fact do -p totally compatibly, because Exim already has the options -ps
and -pd, so you could not use it to set a protocol value of "s" or "d".
