Right, Andreas already posted the correction: "Linux" should be "some
Linux distros".

You are putting words in Giuliano's mouth. He was describing daemons
like Mandrake's msec, not like Debian's statoverride.

msec is obviously a trap for the unwary, whether that qualifies it as
"stupid" is another question...
