Hmm, I wonder if Avleen has a list there. But if you "subscribed" then it is
really there. Never saw it though.

Avleen is really a maintainer, not just a claim. However, for now he's busy with
some "very important" matters and so I don't quite think he'll respond sooner.
I'll try to respond on his behalf ;)

Vexim works very well. I am testing it out of curiosity and you can see what
I have at http://domainplus.wananchi.com/vexim. I have even created a phony
domain name for you.
Here are the details if you want to test:

domain        :     swanni-und-michi.ke
Admin Login    :    ludwig
Admin passwd    :    Michael

This might have something to do with your PHP setup and configuration
for Vexim, but not a Vexim problem per se.

The README was sufficient for me to get it working. Of course it does not tell
you how to install/configure Apache+php because that is beyond it's scope.
Having looked at the documentation, I saw only one thing that required changing -
that you need to edit just two files - mysql.sql and variable.php to reflect
your site requirements.

You know so well that files in DocumentRoot should be readable by the webserver
user, don't you? And it is recommended that once you install vexim, you should
wipe out the distro files and just remain with the "vexim" directory for your
virtualhost.

> And have I got to change anything in the php.ini?

That is beyond the scope of Vexim. You need a working php before installing
vexim.

I see. FWIW, as long as your php setup works with other php-enables sites, it should
work with Vexim without any changes.

I think your problem is in your Apache+PHP setup. There are instructions elsewhere
on how to install a working Apache+PHP. If you use FreeBSD, you can grab my script
from http://ns2.wananchi.com/~wash/Administration/Apache. If you would like some
script that would build for you Apache+php in a non-standard directory for test,
mail me off list.

and Exim too...

No it does.

Write to me offlist about the nature of help you require.

Have a nice weekend.
