You could disable auth/ident (RFC 1413) lookups with the following in
the main section of the Exim configure file:
rfc1413_hosts = !*
I've _never_ needed the results of auth lookup results from Exim.
It's unlikely, these days, that you'll get broken into from a box
administered by a responsible operator who keeps the logs required to
make auth lookup results useful. :-)
