Hello,
it seems you have got problems with some exim-related paths.
1.)
try if the dir
/var/spool/exim/db/
exist. If not -> create it
2.)
check the permissions on the dir (750). Your exim user/group must have write
permissions in this directory (on woody this is typically user "mail" group
"mail").
