You will have to modify expand.c to change line 24. Here is the current
text:

#ifdef SUPPORT_CRYPTEQ
#ifdef CRYPT_H
#include <crypt.h>
#endif
extern char* crypt16(char*, char*);
#endif

I think the fix is to change it to

#ifdef SUPPORT_CRYPTEQ
#ifdef CRYPT_H
#include <crypt.h>
#endif
#ifndef HAVE_CRYPT16
extern char* crypt16(char*, char*);
#endif
#endif
