Indeed they are well aware of it. I have recently reviewed the
procedure. The update so far doesn't do the best of 3->4 conf
conversion... but it only makes a few mistakes there, unless you never
touched exim.conf. Then it works.

A feature of the Exim3->Exim4 update in the Debian Distro is that the
update asks if you want to move all of your exim3 que stuff to exim4 ...
if yes, promotes everything.

If you could work out a good exim.conf for v4 before your migrate...
you'd be far ahead. Including DMAN's spamc stuff as well.
