I guessed as much, but gave it a try anyway, because sometimes things work.
I wasn't in the least surprised when it didn't. It wa also about 5:00 am and

Yes, but I couldn't find out how. When you mentioned "extract" later, it all
fell into place. A quick trip to the book (2 lines) explained all and that
was enough

Well, if they give a bogus domain part, they just get bounced until they get
it right. I tried the way you gave, it worked, and I adapted it to go
stright to the table, rather than use the flat file.

Using a flat file isn't really practical - the actual mailboxes are on a
windows machine, and creating a domain/users automatically sets up the
database tables, eventually there will be 2 Exim machines for outgoing SMTP.
I think that having a flat file in 2 machines is just asking for something
to get missed and for the whole lot to end up out of synch.
