Subject: [Exim] Exim3 alternative to bounce_return_message?
Hi,

[I'm aware that Exim3 is now very old; replacing it with Exim4 is on my
to-do list, but any suggestions in the meantime would be very welcome]

Is there a way to mimic the behaviour of the configuration option
/bounce_return_message/ when using Exim 3?

I'm trying to reduce the risk of our server being an unwitting participant
in "bounce spam". Ideally, I'd like to remove the message body entirely,
particularly if the bounce is being generated by a (system) filter.

I've tried setting return_size_limit to a very small value, but
unfortunately the default buffer/chunk size when sending messages is
sufficiently large that a sizeable portion of the message body is still
included as part of the bounce.

Cheers,

Adam
