Subject: [Exim] Different approach to SpamAssassin integration into Exim
Hi,

I have hacked up a Perl script that can be used with any Exim
installation that has an embedded Perl interpreter enabled. The Perl
script can be called from the system filter or from a user's .forward
file and it interfaces with a running spamd. The advantage over a
local_scan()-based setup is that it is possible to limit delivery
attempts--and CPU-time-consuming calls to spamd--with the system load.

You can the two mentioned files from
<http://hilluzination.de/~bengen/spamassassin/exim.filter> and
<http://hilluzination.de/~bengen/spamassassin/sa-exim-filter.pl>.

I have briefly tested exim.filter as a system filter with Exim 3.36
and SpamAssassin 2.43.

Comments are welcome.
