We add an X- header in the case of missing names (and mail touching rogue
countries and other routing issues). The customer may filter against that
header if desired...or not. (We're shortly moving to another system, but
we'll probably keep our "traditional" headers as well.)

I emptied the mailbox to which I filter the marked stuff in one of my mail
streams a day or two ago...it currently contains 57 messages (one with the
subject "Good Evening exim, Free..." which was a no-name situation).

The only foolproof defense against email spam is not doing email, which is
probably not a popular idea on this list. But after I retire... ;-)
