Hi,
I have a host running exim 3.31. This host is secondary MX for
example.com.
|[14/514]haber@anne:~$ mx example.com
|example.com MX 10 mx.otherprovider
|example.com MX 100 my.host
My retry configuration looks like:
|partial-lsearch;CONFDIR/long_queue_domains * F,2h,15m; F,14d,2h
|partial-lsearch;CONFDIR/relay_domains * F,2h,15m; F,5d,2h
|* * F,2h,15m; G,16h,1h,1.5; F,2d,8h
in CONFDIR/relay_domains, I have a line saying
example.com
I successfully deliver the last e-mail to mx.otherprovider on
2002-07-27 at 15:56. Then, the MX settings change to:
|[14/514]haber@anne:~$ mx example.com
|example.com MX 10 mx.example.com.
|example.com MX 100 my.host
but mx.example.com is not yet online.
on 2002-07-29 04:30, my host starts bouncing e-mail for example.com
"retry time not reached for any host after a long failure period".
Can anybody please explain that error message? The minimum queue time
is configured to be 48 hours, and my exim starts bouncing about 36
hours after last successful delivery - even if it was supposed to
queue that particular e-mail for five days instead of default two.
Am I doing something wrong here?
Greetings
Marc
