This is the problem, I had the same thing.
What switches are you starting spamd with? You need to start spamd
with -F0.
From man spamd:
-F 0 | 1
Ensure that the output email message either always
starts with a 'From ' line (1) for UNIX mbox format,
or ensure that this line is stripped from the output
(0). (default: 1)
