The "sync the directory" feature is already controlled by "#ifdef
NEED_SYNC_DIRECTORY". So you can edit the relevant OS/os.h-xxx file if
you want to compile an Exim that doesn't do it. At present, the only
os.h file that has this set is the one for Linux.
Of course, you should _not_ disable this on Linux when the spool is on a
local disc.
