We too use LDAP!! ;-)

We do. This is done real time and depending upon the address returned,
mail is routed to a specific router...(which may or may not spawn
another different program/API).

I think this is a good addition. This allows someone to connect to
Ldap server not on the intranet (inter-domain etc.) securely.
